Christopher Gill is a crazy assassin who disguises himself in various ways in order to deceive and strangle his victims. Moe Brummel is a single and harassed New York City police detective who begins receiving phone calls from the strangler as a result of which he forms an odd alliance. Kate Palmer is a swinging, trendy tour guide who watches the strangler fleeing from the apartment of her deceased neighbor and sets her sights on the detective. Moe's live-in mother wishes her son would follow in the footsteps of his older brother and become a successful Jewish physician.
