Alex, a 16-year-old teenager who lives with his grandmother, tells his story. He has a number of activities planned for the summer, including recording a new song with his rock band, finding work, and having his first sexual experience with a woman. Along with this, he begins to notice that his grandmother is becoming increasingly reliant on him. As the summer draws to a close, Alex begins to realize that things are about to change permanently and that he will have to grow up and learn to say goodbye to his friends.
