Black Orpheus
Orfeu and Eurydice, young lovers on the run from a hitman dressed as Death and Orfeu's spiteful fiancée Mira, traverse the favelas of Rio during Carnaval, traveling between periods of fantasy and grim reality. With its soundtrack composed by young Brazilian composers Luiz Bonfá and Antonio Carlos Jobim, this impressionistic version of the Greek mythology of Orpheus and Eurydice introduced bossa nova to the globe.
