Born in Evin
Maryam Zaree was born in one of Iran's most renowned political prisons. In her documentary debut, she goes on a personal hunt for answers, speaking with her parents about the horrific events surrounding her birth in an effort to break the silence. She also questions other Evin-born youngsters about their experiences and the devastating effects. Maryam Zaree's cinematic style unfolds through her personal biography, but it also alerts us to the horrors of persecution and dehumanization in Iran and around the world.
