Mary, Queen of Scots
Mary Stuart, who was crowned queen of Scotland at just six days old, is Scotland's last Roman Catholic monarch. At the age of 23, she is imprisoned by her cousin Elizabeth Tudor, the English queen and her sworn enemy. Mary will be executed on the scaffold 19 years later, and with her death, the last challenge to Elizabeth's rule will be eliminated. The differing personalities of the two queens provide a dramatic contrast to the course of history.
