Pelle the Conqueror

The 19th century's conclusion. A boat filled with Swedish emigrants concerns the Danish island of Bornholm. Are Lasse along with his son Pelle who proceed to Denmark to find work. They find employment at a farm, but are treated as the lowest type of life. Pelle starts to speak Danish but is still harassed because of foreigner. However, none of them desires to give up their dream of finding a life that is better .
