Romance in Manhattan

Karel Novak is an extremely naive Czech immigrant that is taken under the wing of streetwise New York chorus girl Sylvia. With the help of charming cop-on-the-beat Murphy, Sylvia hides Karel from the migration authorities and inevitably falls for him. In addition to Karel's illegal-alien status, the plot is made complex by a crooked lawyer and a team of well-meaning welfare workers who venture to place Sylvia's youngster sibling Frank in a foster home.
