Strangled

Based on true events, this psycho-thriller is set in 1960s rural Hungary, when the little village of Martfü is shocked by a series of horrible murders. A crazed killer is on the loose, slaughtering young ladies while an innocent man is falsely charged and sentenced to death for crimes he could never have done. When a determined detective arrives on the scene, he quickly gets consumed with the case, despite the prosecutor's urge to see a man hang. Stuck in socialist Hungary's claustrophobic social, political, and psychological realm, we quickly become entangled in a web of complicated plot and terrifying drama.
