The Baker's Wife

In this little Provencal town, a new baker, Aimable, settles down. His better half Aurelie is attractive as well as much more youthful than he. She departs with a shepherd the evening after Aimable produces his first breads. Aimable is so afflicted that he can not function any longer. Consequently, the citizens, who at first made fun of his cuckoldry, take the issue really seriously (they want the bread) as well as arrange a plan to discover Aurelie and to bring her back to the bakeshop.
