The Bravados
The CinemaScope picture was based on a book of the exact identical name. Jim Douglas (Gregory Peck) is a rancher that has been pursuing the four outlaws who killed his wife for six months. He slides to the town of Rio Arriba, where four men, Alfonso Parral (Lee Van Cleef), Bill Zachary (Stephen Boyd), Ed Taylor (Albert Salmi) and Lujan (Henry Silva), matching the description are in prison awaiting implementation, so he can see the hanging. Town has issued directions to just allow the hangman (Joe DeRita) to enter, so Jim is taken to Sheriff Eloy Sanchez's (Herbert Rudley) office to say his enterprise enterprise. Town never had an implementation so they have brought in a person from outside town to accomplish the position. Jim is allowed by the sheriff into the jail to find the men. They assert that they had never seen him before, but he gets a hunter's face.
