The Outsider

Michael Flaherty (Craig Wasson), an American of Irish origin who served in Vietnam, comes to Belfast to aid his grandfather, Seamus (Sterling Hayden). Soon, he discovers that he is not as well-received in his native nation as he had anticipated. Worse still, he is the intended target of an IRA assassination plot aimed to make the British soldiers seem bad in order to solicit financial backing from wealthy Americans.
