Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Alfred Hitchcock Presents is an American anthology television series hosted by director Alfred Hitchcock. There were dramas, thrillers, and mysteries throughout the series. By the time the show debuted on October 2, 1955, Hitchcock had directed films for more than three decades. Alfred Hitchcock Presents was selected by Time magazine as one of "The 100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME." In an effort to capitalize on the popularity of the television series, a series of literary anthologies titled Alfred Hitchcock Presents was published. One collection, titled Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Stories They Wouldn't Let Me Do on TV, was devoted to tales that censors would not permit to be adapted for the television series; however, a number of the gathered tales were subsequently adapted.
