The show had been put during the 1880s as well as 1879 in Laramie, Wyoming. Warner Bros. had a few western series on the air at the time, with started Cheyenne using Clint Walker since 1955. The trend was continued by the studio using the additions of Maverick with James Garner and Jack Kelly, Colt .45 with Wayde Preston, along with Sugarfoot with Will Hutchins. 1 year after, Warner Bros. added Lawman and Bronco with Ty Hardin.
