Phoenix Nights
The Phoenix Club is a working men's club in Farnworth, Greater Manchester, in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights. The show was written by Neil Fitzmaurice, Peter Kay, and Dave Spikey and shown on Channel 4 in the UK. Toni Baker and Peter Kay wrote the song. Paddy McGuinness added content. 2001 and 2002 saw the debut of two programs. The show is a spin-off of That Peter Kay Thing and Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere. The film received the People's Choice Award at the 2002 British Comedy Awards and was nominated for others. Kay directs and stars in the second series. Kay confirmed on BBC Radio 1 in September 2006 that a third series of Phoenix Nights had been written, but the filming date is uncertain. 8 May2007: Kay announces a new series. In late2009, Dave Spikey told The Sentinel and the Croydon Guardian that he and co-writer Neil Fitzmaurice were unaware of any intentions to bring back the programme.
