Sledge Hammer! Is an American police sitcom created by New World Television that ran for just 2 seasons on ABC in 1986 to 1988. The show was created by Alan Spencer and celebrities David Rasche as Inspector sledgehammer, a preposterous caricature of their standard"cop on the border" personality. Al Jean and Mike Reiss, famous for their focus in The Simpsons, wrote for the series and worked as editors.
