The PJs
Eddie Murphy, Larry Wilmore, and Steve Tompkins are responsible for the creation of the American stop-motion animated television series known as The PJs. It was a depiction of life in an urban public housing project, and it was modeled in the Brewster-Douglass housing developments in Detroit, which were at one time home to Lily Tomlin and Diana Ross. The series starred Eddie Murphy and was produced by Imagine Entertainment, The Murphy Company & Will Vinton Studios, in partnership with Touchstone Television and Warner Bros. Television. Imagine Entertainment was founded by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. The first episode of the series' first run aired on Fox on the afternoon of Sunday, January10,1999, in the time slot that immediately followed a football playoff game for a divisional conference. After another two days, the second episode finally aired on its regular night and time slot, following King of the Hill on Tuesday nights.
